Play Café Template

Last winter, my husband built a beautiful playhouse in our playroom for our daughter. I originally asked him to make a simple frame to hang playsilks, but he surprised us with a sturdy wooden playhouse—complete with a mailbox, fake lawn, a counter for ‘selling’ things, and two types of flooring!
For Christmas this year, we’re adding to her play space with a few simple gifts. We got her a cash register, and I made some super-simple felt play food. I’m also creating menus and play money, which is what led me to make this template to share!
The cash register is a standard Christmas gift I bought online, but with this set, she’ll have five new things to unwrap, all without us buying more. I did spend a little to print the play money (we don’t have a printer), then laminated it so it fits well in her register. You don’t have to print on thick paper or laminate, but it worked well for us. I put the play money into a zip-up pouch we had left from an old stationery set—reusing something we already had.
In the template, the money has our dog’s face on it. However, the ones I printed had faces of family she knows making silly faces in addition to the dog ones.
My goal in sharing this template is to inspire and empower parents to create thoughtful, meaningful gifts without spending a lot of money. Whether it’s for a special occasion or just for fun, I hope this resource helps anyone who downloads it feel confident in giving something unique and personal—without costing much time or money.
